December Ski and Snowboard Holidays

The ski season in Andorra tends to open after the first week of December and from mid December onwards the season is up and running in full.   It can be risky with snow conditions to head off for your winter break that early, however, if you are looking for a great value holiday it can also be the best time to go.    Some seasons has seen the best conditions in December and combine that with low prices and empty slopes you could be on a winner.

Christmas week the prices will start to rise as high season is starting to kick in but what could be better than spending a magical white Christmas in a ski resort.    Andorra celebrates with Christmas markets, Santa Claus on the slopes and Christmas gala dinners.

New Year is high season and one of the most expensive weeks of the winter season and we recommend that you book early for this week and despite it being high season though there are still some great deals to be found in Andorra.    There are large parties everywhere with firework displays and torchlight descents by ski instructors and a great atmosphere everywhere.

January Ski and Snowboard Holidays

January is when you can pick up some excellent ski bargains as well as being more snow sure and colder temperatures meaning artificial snow will top up any snowfalls.    If you are travelling in a group then this is a great month for guaranteeing rooms in the same property as well as low prices.

Looking for some excellent snow, great value ski holidays with uncrowded slopes then this is a great choice for your ski and snowboard holiday.

February Ski and Snowboard Holidays

High season for ski holidays and the most expensive weeks are when the school half terms are on.   Also you need to factor in when the other markets have their school holidays too as this will affect prices on these weeks and are often different to UK and Irish school holidays.

Some great value holidays will often be in the first week of the month before the half term kicks in and the prices go up from the middle to the end of the month.

If you are looking for certain properties or family rooms you will need to book early for February.    Soldeu and El Tarter seem to be especially popular in this month so early booking is essential.  You will find Arinsal better value for money

A great month for family skiing as there will be lots of children around and there is a good family atmosphere everywhere.   Snow conditions are normally pretty good too.

March Ski and Snowboard Holidays

March often has lovely, long sunny days so if you are a fair weather skier then this is the month for you.   There is nothing better than some bluebird days working on your goggle tans and the atmosphere at the apres bars is the best.

March is the month for Icebreaker Music festival in Arinsal which is a fun week of skiing as well as some great DJs, live music and other events going on during the week –  this will normally run during the week of St Patricks’s – save the date!

For groups of friends and great prices then this is an excellent month for ski and snowboard holidays.

April Ski and Snowboard Holidays

The snow might be slushy but if you head for the high resorts eg. Pas de la Casa then you can still find some great conditions and often some fresh snow too.

Easter week if it falls in the right part of the month will make the prices slightly higher but the other weeks in April will have some very cheap deals.

Sunny days, less people on the slopes, events and parties – April can be a pleasant surprise and even get some of the biggest snow falls at times.
