Andorra for families - Looking for a family friendly ski holiday then Andorra is the place to come. The ski stations have worked incredibly hard over the last few years to introduce facilities that make a family ski holiday better than ever.
The childcare facilities are pretty amazing with nursery facilities and snowgardens where little ones can learn to ski in complete safety. There are even dedicated ski areas for children up to 12 years old with fun characters like fairies and goblins along the circuits including snowy forests and circus themed areas.
Affordability is also key and there are some great offers in Andorra on full ski packs in all of the resorts including lift passes, ski and boot hire and ski lessons for children.
For children between 1 and 4 years old there are dedicated nurseries on the mountain which are run by the local ski schools (ages vary between the stations.) For little ones then Arinsal is a great choice as they take babies from 1 year old. If the children are slightly older then all the resorts have nurseries that will take children from 2 years old.

The snow garden is for children between 3 and 5 years old. At the end of the course the 3 year old children will be familiar with their ski equipment, be able to move along the flat on 2 skis as well as be able to go down gentle pistes in a controlled manner.
The children aged 4 to 5 will have skied a bit more and be able to enjoy the gentle pistes as well as be a little more independant on the skis.
The children will progress at their own pace and there is no rush to learn, the most important thing is that they enjoy their time on the snow. At the end of the course, there will be a party as well as a certificate and a gift for each child.
The Snowgardens are great. They will introduce the children to the sport of skiing whilst having fun in the safe hands of specialist instructors.

The Kids Programme is designed specifically for children aged 3 to 11. It combines ski lessons, games and adventure activities, to ensure that children have an unforgettable day.
Children will be split into 2 groups - 3 to 5 years and 6 to 11 years. In the morning the 3 to 5 year olds will attend snow garden and the 6 to 11 year olds will attend ski school.
Classes will take place on the children's circuits and are taught by children's monitors. Games and activities are organized in the afternoon.
The Kids Programme includes: 3 hours ski school + food + games and activities.
Please note that equipment and ski pass is not included and should be booked separately

The group ski lessons in all the resorts are excellent. The level of instruction is superb for both skiers and snowboarders of all ages.
Weekly group lessons can only be started on Mondays. Lessons are: 10.00 - 13.00 or 14.00 - 17.00
The 2 day weekend group ski school starts on Saturdays only.
Adults 18+ . Youth 12-17 and Children 6 – 11 years.
Minimum age for snowboard group lessons is 12 years old in Arinsal, Pal & Pas de la casa. In Soldeu, El Tatrer & Canillo they can start from age 6.

Andorra is a great option for beginners wanting to start their ski experience. Andorra has a good choice of resorts with slopes suitable for all abilities.
The green and blue runs are normally quite wide and gentle downhills that are perfect for beginners or anyone in the process of learning.
Andorra offers ski schools in all of the main resorts and those new to skiing can benefit from the experience of the international instructors who cater perfectly for beginners as well as the more experienced skiers.
The group lessons help beginners from A to Z in a friendly environment with other skiers of the same level.
Starting from the basics of balance, posture and learning the equipment until you are gliding down the slopes. Private lessons can also be arranged, but are not nearly as economical as the group lessons.
For the little members of the family, the SnowGarden combines learning the basics of ski alongside fun in the snow which is very popular for both the children and the parents.
Basically, the ski-schools cater separately for all ages, young and old alike, which makes Andorra perfect for families with children as well as adults that are just beginning their ski adventure.
It is important to note that the group lessons at the ski-schools always start on a Monday, so it is recommended that you arrive at your hotel on a Sunday if you want to take advantage of this service.
