What is there to do in Andorra for Non Skiers

Posted in Andorra by Steve Barron on 23rd April 2020

Andorra is a great place to head for your ski and snowboard holiday but often there will be one or two non skiers in the group so what else is there to do?

It really has a lot to offer skiers and non skiers alike and include on and off the mountain activities.    Here are some of our favourites:

Shopping

Andorra enjoys a low tax status so your money will stretch further in the many shops and outlets around the country.   Pas de la Casa has some excellent shopping with large hypermarkets for your alcohol and perfumerias, however, the capital Andorra La Vella is definitely worth a visit with its many commercial centres, designer boutiques and a vast range of sports shops.

Spas and Wellness Centres

There are many beautiful spa hotels in every resort in Andorra and some of the popular ones include

Sport Hotel Hermitage and Spa – Soldeu

Princesa Parc and Diana Parc – Arinsal

Grau Roig Boutique Hotel and Spa –   Grau Roig

Piolets Hotel and Spa – Soldeu

The jewel in the crown has to be the Spa and Wellness Centre in Andorra La Vella – Caldea which is the largest thermal spa in Europe and well worth a visit.  Indoor and outdoor pools and you can even enjoy a swim under the stars, especially beautiful when it is snowing.

Activities

There are lots of activities to do in Andorra if you don’t fancy skiing every day.

Husky Dog Sledding –  this really is a winter wonderland adventure leading your team of dogs through the snowy landscape.

Snowmobiling – if adrenaline is more your thing then hop on a skidoo for a fast thrilling ride through the mountains.

Snow Shoeing – escape the crowds and explore the slopes on a pair of snow shoes and connect with the stunning natural scenery

Helicopter Rides – enjoy a panoramic tour of the mountains on a once in a lifetime helicopter ride.

Leisurely Lunches and Relaxation

There are lots of lovely mountain huts and restaurants that you can still get to without a pair of skis or snowboard on your feet.    You can get lift passes that allow you to enjoy the mountain without skiing and sit back, eat well and enjoy a little drink in the sunshine watching your friends and family hitting the slopes.

Andorra certainly has lots to do for non skiers!
