Posted in Andorra by Steve Barron on 28th April 2020

With so many ski and snowboard resorts to choose from,  we have the low down on why Andorra should be top of your list.

Great Value For Money  –  Andorra is still one of the most reasonably priced countries that you can travel to for your winter ski break.    With its low tax status it’s not just the holiday itself that is cheaper it also costs a lot less when you are there.    There are some fantastic savings on ski packs including lift passes, equipment and lessons as well as the accommodation itself.   Low cost carriers fly into Barcelona too which means you can package up the holiday at an affordable price.

Excellent Accommodation –  having lower prices does not mean that you need to compromise on the quality of your hotel or apartment.  There are some stunning hotels with state of the art wellness facilities as well as good value for money accommodation.

Fantastic Ski Areas –  Vallnord is great if you are a beginner or low intermediate and for families as its sunny slopes make it a perfect place to learn to ski or perfect your skills. Vallnord is the areawhich covers the resorts of Arinsal & Pal.

Grandvalira is one of the largest ski areas now with over 200 kms of linked skiing and is a great choice for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders.   The facilities in both are second to none with childcare taken care of and great dining and apres spots too.    Uncrowded slopes mean more skiing time as less queues at the lifts and there are plenty of snowparks around for anyone into freestyle.

Ski and Snowboard Tuition –  many of the ski and snowboard instructors are native english speakers and the others all speak excellent english and have been working with British and Irish customers for decades.    They know what is important and have the best reputation for their teaching skills especially for children and adaptive skiing too.    The schools offer private lessons as well as 3, 4, 5 days group lessons and there is a weekend ski school for any long weekend breaks.
